P.E.P “Prayer Evangelism and Preparation”
“In plain sight” Meditate: Matthew 24:7 - “…pestilences…” Ephesians 2:2 - “…the prince of the power of the air…” It has always been there, written in the scriptures, but we just couldn’t see the full force of what The Word was communicating. But now that we are here, in the midst of a global pandemic, it makes so much sense and wonder why we hadn’t seen it before?! Now that we are here, what do we make of what we are seeing and experiencing. God has not left us to guess at who is behind the pestilence and resulting death and also where it is propelling us to. Meditate: Matthew 13:28 “…an enemy has done this…” John 10:10 “…the thief comes to steal, kill and destroy…” “Satan is working in the atmosphere; he is poisoning the atmosphere, and here we are dependent upon God for our lives our present and eternal life. And being in the position that we are, we need to be wide awake, wholly devoted, wholly converted, wholly consecrated to God. But we seem to sit as though we were paralyzed. God of heaven, wake us up!” 2SM 52.1
The crisis is stealing gradually upon us. DA 636.2 What can we do to prepare ourselves, each other, our friends, neighbours and the world? Meditate: John 15:1-10 “Abide in the vine…” “Communion with God will ennoble the character and the life. Men will take knowledge of us, as of the first disciples, that we have been with Jesus. This will impart to the worker a power that nothing else can give. Of this power he must not allow himself to be deprived. We must live a twofold life a life of thought and action, of silent prayer and earnest work. The strength received through communion with God, united with earnest effort in training the mind to thoughtfulness and caretaking, prepares one for daily duties and keeps the spirit in peace under all circumstances, however trying.” MH 512.1-2 “The people of God are to come close to Christ in self-denial and sacrifice, their one aim being to give the message of mercy to all the world. Some will work in one way and some in another, as the Lord shall call and lead them. But they are all to strive together, seeking to make the work a perfect whole. With pen and voice they are to labor for Him.” 9T 26.2 God has designed that Prayer and aggressive Evangelism will Prepare the people for the second coming of His Son. Now is not the time for sleeping, rest is coming in a little while, now we must work.
