Oxford SDA Sabbath Service 3rd October 2026

See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men. Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Quench not the Spirit. Despise not prophesyings. Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil.
1 Thessalonians 5 vs 16 - 22 (KJV)
Announcements
Prayer Ministries:
Our Tuesday, Mid-week prayer and bible study sessions take place in-person at the Church and on Zoom. Please invite friends, and neighbours, as we stand in the gap, seeking the Lord in Prayer and bible study. We would also like to remind the church community (those who are willing and able) that we will be fasting and praying every other Tuesday of the week in our respective homes. Testimonies and breakthroughs will be shared when we meet for prayer at 7pm at Oxford Seventh-day Adventist Church.
The Church Choir: The music department is inviting new members to join the Church Choir. If you are interested, please see Bro. Kofi or Sis. Nicole for more information.
The Children's Choir: The Children's Choir is still recruiting new members. All those interested in having their Children join, please reach out to Sis. Monique White.
Our Prison ministries team is inviting volunteers to join the team. Ministry visits are normally arranged for the 3rd week of each month. If you need induction, please contact Sis. Patience (Oxford) to register (or Elder Barrett - Banbury). Please pray for this ministry as it grows from strength to strength.
Sister Cynthia Golding will be joining the SEC Prison Ministries project in Ghana this month, October. Let us pray for and support her with funds to make her trip successful. For more information, please see flyer for details and speak with Sis. Cynthia.
The Community services team is inviting all who are willing to join home visits and prayers, to get in touch with the team or with the Elder on duty for the week.
Pastor Tim conducts Baptismal classes for anyone who would like to be baptised or who would like to participate in the studies. Please contact one of the elders or Pastor Tim on 07971186530 if you would like to take part.

SS 2026 Quarter 4: The Gift of Prophecy
Lesson 01: The Creator Speaks
Memory Text: "God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds" (Hebrews 1:1-2, NKJV).
But the most effective way in which God has spoken to us is through Jesus Christ, who, of course, is revealed to us in the Bible. As God sought Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, so Christ came to "seek and to save that which was lost" (Luke 19:10). " 'He who has seen Me has seen the Father,' " Jesus declared (John 14:9, NKJV). Through His life, death, and resurrection, Christ fulfilled the promise given to Adam and Eve in Eden. He came and died in our place so that we may have eternal life through Him.
After Jesus' ascension to heaven, the Holy Spirit has continued to guide us " 'into all the truth' " and to speak to us of " 'what is yet to come' " (John 16:13, NIV).
