Oxford SDA Sabbath Service 24th October 2026

And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.” Be hospitable to one another without grumbling. As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
1 Peter 4 vs 8 - 11 (NKJV)
Announcements
Prayer Ministries: Our Tuesday, Mid-week prayer and bible study sessions take place in-person at the Church and on Zoom. Please invite friends, and neighbours, as we stand in the gap, seeking the Lord in Prayer and bible study. We would also like to remind the church community (those who are willing and able) that we will be fasting and praying every other Tuesday of the week in our respective homes. Testimonies and breakthroughs will be shared when we meet for prayer at 7pm at Oxford Seventh-day Adventist Church.
The Church Choir: The music department is inviting new members to join the Church Choir. If you are interested, please see Bro. Kofi or Sis. Nicole for more information.
The Children's Choir: The Children's Choir is still recruiting new members. All those interested in having their Children join, please reach out to Sis. Monique White.
Prison Ministries:
Our Prison ministries team is inviting volunteers to join the team. Ministry visits are normally arranged for the 3rd week of each month. If you need induction, please contact Sis. Patience (Oxford) to register (or Elder Barrett - Banbury). Please pray for this ministry as it grows from strength to strength.
The Prison Ministries team has scheduled an induction session on Thursday 29th October, 2026, at 7pm on Zoom (ID - 712 240 1844), led by Sister Angela Woodburn for anyone who plans to volunteer. When joining the Zoom session, please join with either church or ministry name. Please prayerfully consider this ministry.
Community Services Department:
The Community Services Department would like to thank the church for its support of Gatehouse, including the food hampers given throughout the year. Gatehouse recently sent a newsletter, thanking Oxford SDA Church for its part in serving people experiencing homelessness, and we are glad to share that thanks with you.
The Community services team is inviting all who are willing to join home visits and prayers, to get in touch with the team or with the Elder on duty for the week.
Our next Church board meeting is scheduled for Saturday, 7th November, 2026, at 6:00pm. Members of the board are requested to attend in-person at the the Church.

SS 2026 Quarter 4: The Gift of Prophecy
Lesson 04: New Testament Prophets
Memory Text: "There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all" (1 Corinthians 12:4-6, NKJV).
God spoke through prophets in the Old and New Testaments, and the continuity and harmony in their messages is because the Holy Spirit—the Source, or "Engine," of divine inspiration—has remained the same. The Holy Spirit always empowers true prophets through the gift of prophecy. He also places Christ at the center of the prophets' messages, as Hebrews makes clear (Heb. 1:1-3).
