Oxford SDA Sabbath Service 17th October 2026

He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds. He telleth the number of the stars; He calleth them all by their names. Great is our LORD, and of great power: His understanding is infinite. The LORD lifteth up the meek: He casteth the wicked down to the ground. Sing unto the LORD with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our GOD: Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains. He giveth to the beast his food, and to the young ravens which cry. He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: He taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.
Psalms 147 vs 2 - 10 (KJV)

Announcements
Prayer Ministries: Our Tuesday, Mid-week prayer and bible study sessions take place in-person at the Church and on Zoom. Please invite friends, and neighbours, as we stand in the gap, seeking the Lord in Prayer and bible study. We would also like to remind the church community (those who are willing and able) that we will be fasting and praying every other Tuesday of the week in our respective homes. Testimonies and breakthroughs will be shared when we meet for prayer at 7pm at Oxford Seventh-day Adventist Church.
The Church Choir: The music department is inviting new members to join the Church Choir. If you are interested, please see Bro. Kofi or Sis. Nicole for more information.
The Children's Choir: The Children's Choir is still recruiting new members. All those interested in having their Children join, please reach out to Sis. Monique White.
Prison Ministries:
Our Prison ministries team is inviting volunteers to join the team. Ministry visits are normally arranged for the 3rd week of each month. If you need induction, please contact Sis. Patience (Oxford) to register (or Elder Barrett - Banbury). Please pray for this ministry as it grows from strength to strength.
The Prison Ministries team has scheduled an induction session on Thursday 29th October, 2026, at 7pm on zoom (link to be shared), led by Sister Angela Woodburn for anyone who plans to volunteer. Please prayerfully consider this ministry.
Community Services Department:
The Community Services Department would like to thank the church for its support of Gatehouse, including the food hampers given throughout the year. Gatehouse recently sent a newsletter thanking Oxford for its part in serving people experiencing homelessness, and we are glad to share that thanks with you.
The Community services team is inviting all who are willing to join home visits and prayers, to get in touch with the team or with the Elder on duty for the week.
Our next Church board meeting is scheduled for this Sunday evening, 18th October, 2026 at 7pm. Members of the board are requested to attend on the usual Church Zoom link.
Pastor Tim conducts Baptismal classes for anyone who would like to be baptised or who would like to participate in the studies. Please contact one of the elders or Pastor Tim on 07971186530 if you would like to take part.

The Global Positioning System (GPS) helps travelers know where they are, where they are going, and even provides warnings against hazards. Spiritual travelers journeying to heaven also need guidance now and in the future from a heavenly "positioning system." One way that God did this in times past was through the ministry of Old Testament prophets. In their narratives, counsels, prophecies, poetry, and songs, we discover a lot about the dozens of prophets who presented God's messages to the people.
